About Us

Why Pilates?

The point of doing Pilates is not to be good at Pilates. It’s to be good at life.

Life requires us to be physically strong and flexible, emotionally stable and adaptable, with energy and zest to not only do what is required of us, but to enjoy the ride, too!

With a regular Pilates practice, you will not just notice the improvement in your physical strength, tone and posture, but also see the benefits flow into every area of your life - from having more energy at the end of the work day, to more confidence.

We believe that the most important factor when commiting to a regular mindful movement practice, is consistency.

We’ve found that the best way to allow for consistency, is to truly enjoy what you are doing. Movement isn’t a chore, it’s a celebration.

By becoming a member of our Alt+State Pilates community, by spending time in our beautiful space, by taking the time away from your busy life to focus on you - you will come to enjoy and love the feeling of nourishing your body, mind, and spirit.

Historic Beauty

The grounds of 32 Gregory Street are steeped in rich history. Built in 1876, the building was originally a residence and the Bank of Western Australia.
Throughout its many changes, this building has always been what Geraldton needed at the time. Owner Lucie Taylor (right) continues to refurbish the heritage buildings on site. now avaliable as accomodation.

“The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power.”
